I love to explore! When I was in high school, my mother and I took a whirlwind trip around Iceland! The owner of the small hotel that we were staying at piled us and his spaniel in the car and showed us all the best places. We saw the Þingvellir Plain (“Thing Fields”), where the first parliament (“Allthing”) was established, saw Geysir (“The Great Geyser”)–from which geysers get their name, went pony-trekking on Icelandic ponies with their bizarre gaits, and relaxed in the geothermal pools of the Blue Lagoon! I wish, though, that my mother hadn’t tricked me by saying that they put blood in all of their food (dirty lies!), bc I didn’t hardly eat a thing for three days.

It was an incredible adventure–Iceland was like a completely different planet. It was definitely one of my favorite places I’ve ever explored!

An Icelandic Pony doing the tolt (it looks really rough, but it’s actually very smooth!):

The Blue Lagoon (I couldn’t comb my hair for a week bc of the sulfur in the water):
