K. Lindsay Hunter answered on 15 May 2015:
I think what got me first interested in bones was the fact that my Grammy used to always read us true crime stories at bedtime when I was little, which kind of warped me. We’d pass by a store in Wichita, KS where she lived and she’d say casually, “Oh, that’s the Bridal Shop where those two women were murdered!” After awhile, that kind of thing keeps death on your brain.
When I was a little older, I saw an episode of “MacGyver” where he reconstructed the face of a dead person on their skull using pencil erasers and putty! I thought that was amazing, and it was the first time that I ever had heard about how much information you can learn about someone’s life just by looking at their bones!
