I spend a lot of time with music when I need to relax – discovering new music, writing about it, going to concerts, playing it, and talking about it with friends.

I used to do martial arts. Nothing is better for frustration than punching the stuffing out of some pads. Now I hang with friends and do craft projects. With crafts I can get cool, visible results in just one day, and that helps with the frustration.

My favorite is going horseback riding. When I finished typing up and submitting my Masters project, I literally pressed “send” and left to compete in a hunter-jumper horse show. Nothing like soaring over jumps to wipe all other thoughts from your mind!
