I’m the first scientist in my family. Actually, I’m the first person to graduate from an American college!

Nope. My grandpa tried to become a scientist but he failed out of grad school. The other people in my family do everything but science.

Nope! Actually, neither my mom or dad graduated from college.

I’m the only scientist in my immediate family (although one of my uncles is a computer scientist, so at least it’s part of his title).

In my family, my dad is a retired restaurateur and chef, my mother is a customer service supervisor for Delta (the person that helps you with your tickets for your flight), my oldest brother owns his own stage-managing company (manages venues and tours for bands, plays, etc.), my other older brother scouts baseball players, my younger sister is an artist (mainly silversmithing and glass-blowing), and my youngest brother is an award-winning mixologist, who makes craft mescal (he learned how to make this tequila-like liquor in Oaxaca, Mexico) and invents Prohibition-era cocktails and other drinks.

I might actually be the boring one.
